A girl can dream right?

I've never been very consistent with exercising.

Until now.

It's called Zumba and I absolutely love it! Here is why...

I am the 35 year old in the back of the class that is shaking my bottom as if I am imagining I am Beyonce on stage singing "Put a ring on it!" I'm also the woman in the back strategically placed behind a row of other women so that I can not see myself in the mirror...that is key!

I was one of those obnoxiously, peppy, bow head cheerleaders in Jr. High and then High School. By college I had some sense knocked into me - well and I went to a women's college that didn't see the need for cheerleaders I suppose - and left my cheerleading career for more serious ambitions -- club dancing and a semester of volleyball (I don't know which was worse).

I have never lost my love for dancing. I guess when I was 16 it didn't matter how well I did it just that the hem on my skirt came below my bottom (I swear mom I wasn't folding the waistline up when I left home) and that I wasn't scared to shake it - even if it didn't always follow the beat of the song.

Now I'm 35 and I get to do it again but this time I don't have pubescent boys drooling over the bleachers and I am doing everything I can to keep my curvy toosh covered. It is the best hour of stress release I've ever experienced. And there is always that hope I hold onto deep down inside that one day Beyonce's agent will walk by the room and see me in the back shaking it...and you know what will happen next. See you in Hollywood!

Ha Ha Ha! This made me think of something funny: Scotty recently told me that, as he walked past a gym in a shopping center and saw a Zumba class in action, he had to stop and stare for a minute because it looked like many of the ladies were having frenzied seizures. His immitation was great! Looks like fun to me! LOL

Actually that is a perfect description of what I look like!

I, too, partake in the "frenzied seizures" several times a week. It's fantastic & I don't care what anyone else thinks or says....just too old for that nonsense.
Hook me up, sista when you get to Hollywood. I'd even settle being your back-up dancer!!

Sarah, I bet you look just like the girls in the "Zumba Dance" commercials.
