A busy weekend but the way I like to roll...
As you can see Nate finished just in time (Sunday morning just a few hours before the big revealing) the 15 foot playhouse on stilts complete with pulley elevator and not finished monkey bars! It was a surprise for Ian's 6th birthday. We thought we were all cool in keeping him from looking in the backyard the past few days with the blinds closed and tricking him to stay in the front because he never asked us why or tried to sneak a look... only to find out as he is pulling himself up in the "elevator" today that he knew the whole time what was going on. A boy who can lie to your face with such an angelic smile...I've decided to go ahead and start saving bail money for this one; yes in deed!
And it's that time of year again...school starts, blue jeans are bought, and soccer begins in the Callender household. Ian decided to play this season after taking the Spring off only to ask Nate (aka "Coach") after being in the game about 3 minutes, "how much longer do I have to stay here?"
Eli on the other hand only cried a few times before leaving the house b/c something about his shoes and what was that about the color of his socks and oh yeah his shorts were too short...mumbling under his breath to us that he hated soccer as he got in the van. Of course then he follows all that drama up with playing so hard on his new 'older boys team' (there are 12 year olds for crying out loud). He really has a talent for this sport and seems to have a drive that comes out of no where while he is on the field. I'm thinking about investing in bi-polar medicine for this one!
