It started out as a fun thing to do for friends as gifts but I'm going to attempt to make money from it now....painting on canvasas. The funny thing is anyone could do it if they took the time and had the patience. It's not fine art by any means, rather caricture like pictures of family members, words in neat font styles, pretty, colorful paints on canvasas with bible verses written on them. It's theraputic for me to sit for hours and just paint like I was one of the two year olds in my preschool classroom. How exciting when someone else receives one and is happy to have their family painted on canvas (even if they don't look like them exactly) - and to know I did that. I've never ever considered myself artistic - Nate, Eli - yes very much so but me...I like to write but I can't even draw an animal. Ask Eli, I remember drawing something simple for him when he was really little and he laughed at me and asked what it was supposed to be! Hee Hee!
But how cool when you are 32 and find you have a hidden talent or a new interest in something in life. That alone is exciting to me whether I make money off it or not. So - wish me luck as I attempt to solicit stores in the 'Boro and see if they want to sell my stuff. I'll keep you posted! And hopefully soon I'll put some pictures of my 'masterpieces' on the blog!
P.S. don't go see Cloverfield at the movies - waste of your money (but if you do please take some motion sickness pills!) And don't forget 9 more days till the LOST Season Premier!

As the proud owner of one of your painted canvases, I can tell you how glad and proud I am that you discovered your artistic side. I'm so proud of my sister! I love you and your incredible family
