The feel of corn silk on your fingers...the smell of a baking homemade apple pie...pouring bags of ice on the ice cream maker while sweat pours down your face from the hot July sun...firing up the grill beside the neighbors and druling over the steaks soon to be devoured...the flies buzzing all over your unattended plates of food...sweet tea...laughter from children running around the yard with excitement that they got away without eating a single baked bean or bite of potato salad but already devoured two bowls of ice cream and three cookies...the booming of firecrackers and the whizzing of bottle rockets past your head...the smell of smoke bombs and the vivid blue and purple colors of clouds drifting down the street...these are the memories we made this 4th of July.
