I immersed myself in preparing for the "traditional" ways of Easter by yes, volunteering to oversee a kindergarten class dying eggs...on a windy day...in an open field (very far away from any bathroom). Was I crazy? Yes!
We then celebrated one of my most favorite Christian traditions...Easter Sunday...where we worshiped with family at a very 'on fire' church in Franklin (The People's Church) and remembered why we are forgiven and free - our risen savior Christ Jesus!
That afternoon we discovered we had a new member to the Callender family...honey bunny...or bun bun! (don't ask - I still have a 6 year old who speaks baby talk at times)
I have trudged through teaching preschool alone on Tuesdays and Thursdays which I must admit is no longer fun...no one should be left alone to run around crazy all day with 10 classes of 1 to 5 year olds!!!! But I've sucked it up and made the best out of the situation... (sorry no picture of me going on a bear hunt and doing the hokey pokey 1,000 times)
Between just two kids (yes two kids) I have visited various doctor's offices 8 times IN TWO WEEKS (imagine the co-pays please???). Discovered Elizabeth had a HARD WALL OF WAX that we were told we had two weeks to dissolve or she would need her tube replaced (and a bad infection behind it - reason for such urgency). Discovered Ian had the beginning of pneumonia and then through an x-ray discovered he had a mysterious cyst in his arm bone. This led to more x-rays and more specialized doctor visits at Vanderbilt (our second home between Ian and Elizabeth). Then we discovered it was indeed benign and we were to forget we ever saw it. Oh, the joys of modern medical procedures and discovering things in our body we don't need to know are there...Then more doctor visits to follow up on said ear problems - YEAH...TUBE IS CLEAR and pneumonia...BOO, LUNGS STILL INFECTED...but YEAH...NO ASTHMA! So, more medicine and we'll wait and see!
Soccer starts - thank God only Eli wanted to play! Daddy coaching makes life a little easier!
Eli turns 9 = one spend the nighter with four boys - movie night... trampoline jumping...being loud until 11:30pm and waking up at 5:30 am...just a little low growling from me and some t.v. watching to solve that problem!
I learned a lesson in standing up for what you feel strongly about this past week! There was a situation at school that I felt so burdened over where my children were involved in learning a life lesson of equality and fairness for all. Sometimes you just have to speak up and let your voice be heard even if feels uncomfortable. I have learned not to sit back and just shrug my shoulders, saying oh well, there is nothing that can change it. I also learned through this experience that so many people walk around daily numb to the feelings of others outside their own bubble. As long as it doesn't effect me or my kids then why should I care...that is the attitude of a lot of people.
And last of the Callender adventures: sweet sister girl is fast approaching her 18 month milestone. She plans on attacking her 2's well before humanly possible. How do I mean? Well, she is the most outgoing, energetic, doesn't stop, doesn't 'shut up' (sorry), people person I've ever met! Busy...Busy...Busy! I think her toddler years are going to put me in a crazy home! When the boys get in the van after school and try to talk to me what does Elizabeth do? Scream a high pitched scream with a sweet smile on her face the entire time. The louder they get...the louder she gets!
She will not sit still for more then a few minutes and those few mts. must include her putting something in her mouth. Eating at restaurants, car rides, stroller walks...all real fun! She has decided the most fun thing to do outside when the boys are jumping on the trampoline...run as fast as she can under the trampoline and get right in the middle so I can't reach her without crawling in after her. Yes, you can imagine me screaming like a crazy woman for the boys to STOP JUMPING...FREEZE...DON'T MOVE... for fear of my baby girl's neck getting snapped! (we are going to Lowes this weekend for a remedy to that problem!!!) But she sleeps hard and long! God does have mercy!
So, maybe the next two weeks will be quite and uneventful...oh, wait a minute! Who am I kidding?

Man, girl..that made ME tired.
That pic of E and E brushing teeth is a frameable.
I actually was trying to make sure you weren't blogging about my dearest middle child, whom I am sure is up already this morning and talking about the rabbit a mile a minute at your breakfast table.
It's great you stood up about the unfairness thing. My kids and I are big supporters of the underdog and looking out for injustice.
The toothbrushing picture made me smile. 3rd kids do everything sooner!
